Please note that two alterations have been made to the Laws of the Game. One is in relation to the use of electronic devices (in relation to use for health reasons) and the other regarding the ‘Hacksaw Bowling Arm’ which has been outlawed. The exact wording is set out below.

10.1    Electronic devices e.g. Mobile Phones, Smart watches etc. in active mode are not allowed on the green. Should a player fail to comply , that player shall forfeit the game. The offender(s) to receive no further score & the opponent(s) to receive the maximum score.
Interpretation
Where a player has an electronic device in active mode for Health Reason they should inform their opponent & the referee of this, & must mitigate the level of sound emitting from the device, then no sanction should apply.

Reason is it will not hold a Crown Green Bowling Jack.

The full draw for the BCGBA World Club Championship can be found below, with one of the rounds being held at the Bellingham Bowling Club, Wigan, this coming Sunday.

The Lancashire Development Officer, Ian Gill, will be available to give any club development advice you might require at the BCGBA Champion of Champions this coming Saturday, at Monk Sports & Social, Warrington. Please feel free to approach him and have a chat. He will be either at the Bowls Buddies stand or around the green somewhere on the Saturday (30th September) for the Men’s event. The Men’s and Women’s Champion of Champions will be held at Monk Sports & Social Club, Warrington, on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October respectively. Both are sure to be great days of bowling so go along and support this event if you can. A daily ticket is £10 and you can get both days for just £15. The full draw is attached below.

It is hoped that we can organise a Level 1 Coaching Course locally for later this year, subject to numbers. If you have previously been in touch about a coaching course please contact Ian to confirm that you are still interested.

The Level 1 course will prepare you for coaching beginners into the sport and will be a real asset to your club. The course costs £145, half the cost of which will be met by the BCGBA.
